Jose Louro – Entrepreneur
Back in the sixties my parents, from humble origin, emigrated from Portugal to Germany in this eternal pursuit of better life conditions.
Meanwhile, in 1969 I was born in Germany (as well as my sister, 5 years younger than me), we lived there there until my 15th birth day, then we all returned to Portugal where I pursued high school and made my professional formation as Electrician.
Afterwords, in Portugal, I started working for an international company but soon I realised I was more an entrepreneur and left the company, pursued my own path and ideas without much success but learned a lot.
After a couple of years, after realising that I couldn’t identify myself with the culture, I emigrated on my own, for the first time to Switzerland, worked there for 1 year, met Paula, who would became my future wife when, meanwhile, I was on vacation in Portugal….
Back in Switzerland, she was also living and working here, we decided to return back to Portugal, because of family and eventually better conditions to have and raise our future children, so we thought…
Once in Portugal we started an entrepreneurial venture in Real Estate with my family and pursued this for 10 years.
The market started to drop and we, my wife and me, questioned our life’s conditions, our future, the culture and our beliefs, we questioned a lot, we decided that something radical had to change, we were feeling that we weren’t in the right place, so decided to start everything all over again, we closed the business, back to zero…
We emigrated back to Switzerland, one of our best best decision ever, we decided to prepare our young children teaching them as much as possible and as quick as possible one of their new foreign language, french !
Well, I was also studying in the International Language Institute of Setubal french and german, german more to get some refreshing.
So, we emigrated with our 2 kids, Andreia and Diogo to Renens, Switzerland, (because my wife was already fluent in french, so it was easier) to allow us and our children better chances for the future life.
18 years later we are now well established, living now in our beautiful village Belmont-Broye, the teenagers have started in the professional world and we have become, very proudly…
Swiss citizen ! Our new beloved country that we LOVE so much.
Meanwhile I reduced my corporate career and dedicated part of my time to freelance services and online business, in a creative way that provides more satisfaction.
Next step is return my experience to help other people realise their potential and provide resources so they can put them in practice.
